Meet the Team
Michelle Burke is the author of The Lavender Maze series. Adventure filled chapter books for children aged 5-9 that gently build mindfulness, emotional resilience and self-awareness, while growing a strong reading vocabulary.
A children's wellbeing advocate and therapeutic coach (currently studying for a counselling diploma), Michelle has spent her career helping young minds feel confident and supported. Each Lavender Maze book includes an extended vocabulary glossary, giving readers the words to express what they're thinking and feeling both on and off the page.
As a mother of three, Michelle writes stories that entertain first while quietly offering practical tools children can carry into everyday life, at home, in the classroom and beyond.

Michelle Burke
Michelle is a mother to 3 children and has had an infinite love of books from an early age. Her books are designed to help children explore language and vocabulary without even realising they are learning. They were inspired by her daughter and created for her son who is dyslexic. She holds a current DBS and full public liability insurance.
Illustrator
Zoe Mellors
Zoe is passionate about bringing stories to life and loves each book that she has worked on. She has a degree in illustration from the University of Lincoln and worked alongside Michelle to create the maze characters.
Zoe has 2 dogs and drinks far too much tea.
Art Director
Juliet Knight
Juliet lives in Brighton, England. She has 2 boys and over 10 years experience working as a freelance graphic designer in the children's book industry. She also happens to be Michelle's cousin.
Her ideas are fresh and innovative and she adds that extra bit of magic to the books.
Narrator
Haylet Pettit
Hayley lives in Kent and has several years experience as a voice over artist and actor. She particularly loves working on characterisations and regaling stories to her three children.
Hayley does an absolutely exceptional job of bringing the maze characters to life through audio.
Editor
Sandra Stafford
Sandra lives near the sea in Somerset, England. She has decades of experience working as an editor. She is also an avid reader and has been since she was a young girl.
One of her favourite flowers is lavender!
